Person - Person E-mail Communication

Real Life Metaphor - Personal conversation, dating, personal meeting,
E-mail Model: 5-steps model by Purpose of the email, Content of the email, What should be done and will be done.
Remember to consider the personal background.
Other online forms : instent message, text message, phone calls, facebook wall posting,

Person - Group E-mail Communication
Real Life Metaphor - public speaking in a group
E-mail Model: with the 5-steps model, remember to consider the group interest and avoid oersonal-group conflict, personal privacy, and copyright. For example, a research based group such as Center for Chinese Studies may not expect to get an religious event annoucnement in the local Chinese community.
Other online form: post entries on forum , google group posting, facebook group, ning network, ...

Group - Person E-mail Communication:
Real Life Metaphor - for the recieving person, it might be like a group interview, or Q&A after speaking, or even the jury on court.
E-mail Model: 5-steps model, with focusing on the purpose of the communication.
Other forms: Broadcasting, TV, News updating, Google Group,

Group - Group E-mail Communiation
Real Life Metaphor - rould table meeting, Olympics, summit conferences,
Reasonable purpose group-group communication: Information exchange, conflict resolution, events setting up, biz trading, groups negotiation....
Thus: Information exchange in electronic mail can be acceptable, but considering the conflict resolution between groups or setting up some cross-group event, other forms of communication have to be taken account of. If the communication is not under the standard, misuse of group to group mail might involve serious conflict.
Attention: avoid inter-groups conflict, use other forms of communication
Other online forms: open Forum, tele-conference,

I should not say that e-mail is out of date, since it's still used broadly in my life.
But for the professional, goverment, biz, organizations, ERP should be a better way to communicate and negotiate, so that the receiever and sender group will be speificed.

My model:
Think the 5-steps -> save the draft ->
wait for 10 minutes -> review it again -> send

Sometimes, we don't know we were drunk into some negative mood and lost the neutrality. Like when I am reading my past blog entries, I am seldom content with what I wrote before. It's a learning process and I have to say it's good to be honest to myself. That "10 minutes" waiting step is to calm down myself and to be relatively ojective.
