Double-minded v.s. bilingual mind sets

Thanks for James putting that double minded people on warning.
Gonna figure out a way to unite my bilingual minds... lol

First of all, bilingual people have two mind sets.
It's not like we are translating from one language to another all the times, it's like English is a language I am communicating with people, separated from Chinese system, and whenever the circumstances shift, it's related with the whole mind set changing.

Then, considering myself as a whole brain talented in Chinese, while having no any ideas how to active some part of the brain in English, which really scarifies me out. If there are someone doing research on this kind, I am the best volunteer and I would love to sacrifice for whatever the researcher requires, if it will benefit the people with bilingual background

Then, everyday, the same question will be put in front of myself, again and again:
Should I hug and kiss the chick, or should I shake hands, or should I just nod and greet?
Should I say sorry, or should I just smile and nod, or
Should I smile and be like myself, or should I consider the so called professional image in the Caucasian culture?
This is probably a surface symptom of mind sets shifting along with culture contexts changing.

At least, with lots of creative chaos, the double minded people made some history, such as Columbus' conflict public letters and personal journals...
As Coldplay wrote in Viva La Vida and I enjoy, with suspicion.
Good music, but we need some critical thinker to make it as a educational material.

Warning for me:
1． Be single mind first, before start doing anything sounds right and creative, for beyond whatsoever, what is good for me will keep faithful for myself, and if I am not single minded, it might be a mass chaos for others.
2. Pure Joy, even the profession is not allowing me, for some people just need a smile and itis just selfish to hide my smile for myself.
3. Write in Mandarin about my mind and personal thought, to just prevent the potential double minds. (in my personal blog)
4. Challenge myself everyday with refreshment.

1. Want to hear more about Lu Xun as well.
The cut is strange at the Lu Xun's part at the beginning.

2.thank God, pinyin is the only thing I use for Chinese inputting, I think it helps me to learn English.

3. Don't be disappointed by the policy.
It is conservative, but understandable.
a. it's not easy for the last generation to learn about the computer, and it will be harder to learn Pinyin. In a culture of respecting elders, I understand this shape inputting emphasis.
(As mentioned above, personally, I love latinization! This opens my brain of learning both Latin language and Chinese in my childhood.)
b. practical reason - speed. Those who know how to type both pinyin and shape input will tell you how much faster it is to use shape input instead of pinyin (will analyze more in the point 4).
c. prevent next generations from forgetting how to write Chinese characters, since the computer use. This problem exists in all cultures. Human just love traditions and want to keep it.


4. Latinization will be the future trend for input software, for the population speaks the standard Chinese is growing with the urbanization, the Television, and the internet.
Let's analyze it in Human Computer Interaction sense:
Psychologically,
if the person can pronounce the word perfectly, she/he would love to use pinyin;
if the person can write the word perfectly, he/she would love to use shape input.
If the person can write and speak Chinese both perfectly, he/she would love to use pinyin, for it's takes longer time to memorize another keyboard system than just type pinyin perfectly.
Let's say if the person only knows how to write some characters, with hard time to pronounce the standard Chinese, he probably will choose the shape input, other than pinyin, for Chinese characters is "shape oriented".

Since the urbanization and intellectualization is the trend in China, standard Mandarin will be the natural trend, as well as Pinyin.

If Chinese government is doing this promotion for shape input to against human nature and psychological preference, I will pray for the "grass root" software companies.
If Chinese government is doing this promotion for minorities who may find hard to speak perfect standard Mandarin, I pray for the government software companies.
Often, it's just hard for people to pronounce it perfect in pinyin, for there are tons of dialects in China.

5. for Taiwan.
Support the minority languages.
Develop the pinyin - traditional input and be generous like a nation.

(We know Taiwanese people are very generous, but in term of nation, it’s actually not an easy thing for a democratic small nation to do)
One tip in my head for Taiwan policy makers is to learn from Singapore if it’s possible. Make Taiwan attractive for other nations to come and be a multi-cultural Taiwan.

Japan is famous for long lifespan, though eating Japanese food might risk for monosodium glutamate, as scientifically proved unhealthy, though average working hours and working pressure in Japan is higher than lots of other places.
Looking into food of Japan, it's all about healthy food.
It's a great gift to borrow, since the population in Hawaii is huge.

+ If eating habit and way of life is the major reason of obesity,
then what brings the eating habit and pattern of life?
It can be influenced by the definition of the normal, the people around them, or the people whom they grow up with hang out with and work with,
which may includes parameters such as age , economic status, ethnicity, family culture, etc.
So, the obesity may be shifted if figuring out a way to break through those parameters.
Though, it's not gonna be a simple chain, and all the parameters are connected and influences each other like a wet.
People will regroup and re-divide again, as well as redefining the pattern of life and the definition of the normal.
Hopefully, if there is a trend of people regrouping, the obesity will be easier for Hawaii, since culture really is the huge

Optimists will think the change is always good, towards a way of learning to respect for the otherness．

Aloha Spirit or...(revised)

A year ago, participated with a small project with some official and Pastor Aaran, about Aloha Spirit card, with a group of Chinese visitors.
I was spiritually drained at that time. I guess Aloha Spirit can't replace the Holy Spirit. Personally, Aloha without spirit is dead, or Aloha without Spirit is the rules and doctrine. Specially for those are from a different culture, it's hard for them to comprehend Aloha Spirit.

Days ago, Obama reminded me again about this Aloha spirit, which bothers me somehow and wondering why not just say it directly...Holy Spirit? (since Americans know that well)
I believe people in the world probably needs Holy Spirit, at least it's spiritual,for good?

But if it's easier to accept a creative new things from another culture, for those who already has the Power of Holy Spirit, and wanna be creative, I guess authorities won't say it's wrong.

En...Aloha Spirit without Spirit is dead. It's a warning from my personal perspective.

Absolutely, the benefit to business networking and the ads hits catalyze the growth of RSS, but as another reason of acquiring FeedBurner, publishing, it's accompany silently with Advertising symphony.

Though the benefit for publishers is exciting, with integrated equipments from Google. In spite of all the critical reviews for this acquiring, the RSS for publisher is way more exciting.
